下田には9つの海水浴場があります。散歩やサーフィン、家族で過ごす一日。天気や季節、したいことに合わせて、行き先を選んでみてください。Shimoda has nine beaches. Choose a place for a walk, surfing or a family outing to suit the weather, season and your plans.

須崎半島の先から橋で渡れる小さな島。海岸の地層や、波に削られた岩場を見ながら散策できます。A small island reached by a bridge from the tip of the Suzaki Peninsula. Walk along the shore to see layers of rock and a coast shaped by the waves.

海食洞の龍宮窟、灯台と柱状の岩が見られる爪木崎も、伊豆の地形に出会える場所です。The sea cave at Ryugukutsu and the lighthouse and columnar rocks at Tsumekizaki offer more ways to explore Izu’s landscape.

川沿いの石畳、なまこ壁や伊豆石の建物。ペリーロードから路地へ入り、店に立ち寄りながら歩くのも下田の楽しみです。Follow the stone-paved riverside lane past old plasterwork and Izu-stone buildings. Take a turn into a side street and stop at a cafe or small shop.

了仙寺や玉泉寺では、下田と開国の歴史に触れられます。Visit Ryosen-ji and Gyokusen-ji to learn about Shimoda’s part in Japan’s opening to the world.
