部屋を楽しむ宿、ではありません。

客室について、正直に

建物は古く、設備も最低限。シャワーやトイレも基本的に共同で（和室のみ部屋にトイレあり）、下田は温泉のまちでもあるのに温泉ではありません。

それでも全室個室なので、静かに休める場所はあります。川側なら港と夕暮れも、山側は朝日も楽しめます。

自慢したいのは、共有スペースと立地

徒歩圏には飲食店や日用品を買えるお店、日帰り温泉、足湯のある大きな公園、道の駅なども揃っていて、暮らすように過ごすにも便利な立地です。

港を眺めながら料理や食事ができるキッチン・ダイニング。年代物のYAMAHAのスピーカーからあたたかな音楽が流れるコミュニティスペース。誰かのおすすめの本を、ロッキングチェアに揺られながら読む時間。

デッキではハンモックに寝転び、2階のワークスペースでは集中して仕事ができます。

旅人、住人、地域の人たちが、同じ場所でそれぞれに過ごしているうちに、自然と会話が始まる。多くのゲストが、滞在時間のほとんどを共有スペースで過ごしています。

泊まるだけではなく、少し暮らすように過ごす。何度も足を運ぶ方や、予定より長く滞在を延ばす方が多いのも、それが理由です。それが、風まち下田ならではの滞在です。

Honestly, about the rooms

The building is old and the facilities are basic. Showers and toilets are shared (only the Japanese-style rooms have their own toilet), and although Shimoda is known for its hot springs, we are not one.

Still, every room is private and quiet. Waterside rooms get harbour and sunset views; mountain-side rooms catch the morning sun.

What we're proud of: the shared spaces and the location

Within walking distance you'll find restaurants, shops for everyday essentials, a day-trip hot spring, a large park with a foot bath, and a roadside station — a genuinely convenient spot for living, not just staying.

A kitchen and dining space where you can cook and eat while looking out over the harbor. A community space filled with warm music from a vintage YAMAHA speaker. Time spent in a rocking chair, reading a book someone recommended.

A hammock on the deck, and a workspace upstairs for focused work.

Travelers, residents, and locals spend time in the same spaces, and conversation starts naturally. Most guests end up spending most of their stay in these shared spaces.

Not just a place to stay — a place to live, if only for a while. It's why so many guests come back, or end up extending their stay longer than planned. That's what makes a stay at Kazemachi SHIMODA different.

エレベーターはありません。お部屋は2階から4階で、階数はこちらで割り振ります。低層階をご希望の方はコメント欄にお書きください（4階はいちばん眺めのいい階です）。

There is no elevator, and rooms are on floors 2 to 4 — up to three flights of stairs. We assign the floor, so if stairs are difficult for you, please write "lower floor preferred" in the comments. That said, the top floor has the best view.

ドミトリー（相部屋）はありません。全室個室または少人数の専用部屋。プライベートはしっかり守りながら、共有スペースで自然な交流が生まれます。

災害・交通障害時の特例

台風・地震などにより、次のいずれかに該当する場合は、キャンセル料をいただかず、お支払い済みの宿泊料金を返金します。

下田へ向かう主要な公共交通機関が運休し、来館が困難な場合
宿泊予定日時に、当施設所在地を対象とする避難指示または緊急安全確保が発令され、当施設が休業する場合
停電・断水・設備故障その他の事情により、当施設が安全に宿泊を提供できないと判断し、休業する場合

やむを得ない事情により当施設が休業し、宿泊を提供できない場合は、未宿泊分の宿泊料金を返金します。これに伴う交通費、ツアー・イベント代、代替宿泊施設との差額など、宿泊料金以外の費用については、当施設の故意または重大な過失による場合を除き、補償いたしかねます。

ダイビング、ツアー、イベントなど、参加予定の催しが中止・欠航となった場合でも、当施設が宿泊を受け入れられる状態である場合は、通常のキャンセルポリシーが適用されます。

Please send your request once your plans are set. When your reservation is confirmed, we hold the room exclusively for you and decline other inquiries. Last-minute cancellations — especially for groups or long stays — significantly affect our small operation, so we kindly ask that you avoid booking as a tentative hold.

Exceptions for disasters and transport disruption

No cancellation fee will be charged, and any accommodation charges already paid will be refunded, if a typhoon, earthquake or similar event results in any of the following:

Major public transport services to Shimoda are suspended, making it difficult to reach the property.
At the time of your scheduled stay, an Evacuation Order or Emergency Safety Securing order applies to the location of the property and the property closes as a result.
The property closes after determining that it cannot safely accommodate guests because of a power outage, water outage, equipment failure or another operational issue.

If the property must close due to unavoidable circumstances and is unable to provide accommodation, we will refund the accommodation charges for the unused nights. Except where the loss results from the property’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence, we cannot compensate for transportation costs, tour or event fees, differences in the cost of alternative accommodation, or other costs beyond the accommodation charges.

If a diving trip, tour, event or other activity you planned to attend is cancelled or called off, our standard cancellation policy still applies as long as the property remains able to accommodate you.

はじめてお越しの方には、玄関の開け方や共有スペースの使い方を対面でご案内しています。チェックイン時に少しお時間をいただきます。
そのため、はじめての方が19時以降にご到着の場合は、別途料金をいただくことがあります（1時間 ¥1,500）。2回目以降の方はかかりません。 ※15:00より前に到着された場合も、共有スペースでくつろいだり、荷物だけ先に置いて出かけたりしていただけます。

可燃ゴミ・ペットボトル・びん・缶などは、裏口の表示に従って分別してください。生ゴミはキッチンで処分してください。

Waste sorting
Sort burnable waste, plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans according to the signs at the rear entrance. Dispose of food scraps in the kitchen.

確定メールと一緒に、玄関パスコードなどのご案内をお送りします。

チェックイン前日に最終のご案内メールが届きます（パスコード再送・周辺のグルメ情報など）。当日は15:00〜19:00にお越しください。
15時より前に着いても大丈夫です。お荷物をお預かりしますので、そのまま身軽に下田を歩いていただけます。カフェ・ワークスペース・コミュニティスペースもご利用いただけます。
到着予定の時刻は、前日のメールのリンクからお知らせいただけます。少人数で運営しているため、分かるとお迎えの準備ができて助かります。

🌊 After confirmation

A final reminder email arrives the day before check-in (passcode again, local food tips, and more). On the day, please arrive between 15:00–19:00.
Arriving before 15:00 is absolutely fine. We will look after your luggage so you can head straight out and explore Shimoda. The cafe, workspace and community space are open to you as well.
You can tell us your expected arrival time from a link in that email — we run this place with a small team, so knowing when to expect you helps us welcome you properly.
